From the Ends of the Earth was begun as a family endeavor to bring quality handmade arts and crafts from around the globe to our community.  As a frequent traveler, I often purchased beautiful goods from local artisans and displayed them at my home in Dallas, Texas.  My friends and acquaintences often commented on them and wondered where they could find the same items without traveling to remote villages in distant countries. 

When the opportunity arose, I opened a store in historic Oakcliff a few blocks from my home to make that possible.  I decided to sell fair trade goods in an effort to ensure that the local artisans I purchased from would receive fair prices for their goods.  More importantly, it is a means of helping to ensure that production of these goods continues into future generations.  In our ever shrinking world, if the youth in these cultures don't feel that creating traditional arts and crafts will be a viable option for their career then we will lose these traditional crafts forever, and what a shame that would be.  By paying the artisans a fair price for their crafts however, the youth can begin to see the crafting of artisanias as a valuable and marketable skill and they will be willing to carry the traditional arts of their culture into the future.
